 Hello there!

Well, here we go! We have reached the end of the pandemic posts! It only took me three years, but hey, there was a lot to process and life really does not stop coming, or whatever Smash Mouth said!

Like I mentioned previously, I had lots of time back in Chicago due to us being able to work from home after Thanksgiving. It was magical, because Christmas in Chicago just is. That is the only time I will tolerate snow and cold. It really needs to let up once the New Year hits! 

They typical Christmas things were done:

Cookies were decorated!

Stockings were hung by the fireplace with care! I want to say that we got the tree up in a timely manner, but who knows, lol!

A certain someone's first Christmas was celebrated!

A common gift for this year!

Had some fun going through old posters! I said that I was going to give some away, but I gave not a one away, lol

I remember Lezlee and myself met up to eat and sat outside at this cute little firepit : )

I mean come on! It's truly unfair for a city to look this good!

I felt this meme really summed up the year!

And there you  have it! The end of one of the strangest era of my life to date. Unfortunately, the pandemic is not over, but lockdown is so it has been something else to be living in history that you know is going to go in textbooks. But, as I just saw online, it's okay to exist in a time of historical change during laundry, barely.

Pandemic Posts - November 2020

 

Well, well, well, we meet again! I'm working on this post now, but how long will it take me to actually finish and post it? Only time will tell! Someone was just asking me about this blog the other day and I was like it has been way too long!

Any who, let us jump into my first Thanksgiving in a pandemic. At the time it felt kind of weird, but nice to be home. Looking back, I really wish that I could have that entire time from Thanksgiving to the New Year off, like who do I need to speak to about bringing that schedule back?!

We spent Thanksgiving preparing our favorite dishes and bringing them over to my sisters house/my childhood home and it was too chilly to eat outside, so we made plates and took them all back to our houses, got on Zoom, and then sort/kind of ate together. It felt truly dystopian but wonderful to be back home, because I didn't want to be anywhere else.

In conclusion the end of the year was not quite as strange as the beginning, but by no means was it back to normal. Still at this time I remember being glad to be alive and very grateful for this very weird year.
