Pandemic Posts - May 2020

 Hello again!

After a whirlwind of a week and a half traveling, I'm back! My heart is so full after these past couple of days and it definitely deserves its own post, so I'll save all that for later.

Right now, it's time for another pandemic post! Once again, I didn't remember much about May, but looking back at pictures, it was a lot of exploring my new neighborhood. By May I was settling in to this work from home situation and actually enjoying it! I never thought that I would like working from home, but I was actually starting to prefer it.

How very resolute are humans, when not even two/three months later I was settling in to this new way of life. I've talked with many people about this before, but I always have been impressed by people's will to survive in end of the world type movies. I always figured that when confronted with something like that, I would just let the natural disaster, zombies, vampires, aliens, etc take me. But, here I was  several months in to what felt like the end of the world, surviving. With the help of snoballs and daquiri's, of course.

Watching Golden Girls and sipping on daquiri's became quite the usual pastime.

My first snoball from the infamous Hansen's.

Coffee, as always continuing to get me through. The real MVP.

Got to buy lots of wine with fun names too!

Community Book Center (https://readcbc.com/) with mural by Bmike.

Local grocery store mural.

Pop-up art installation by Josh Wingerter.

Neighborhood strolls.

Lovely card sent to me by Siani!

And, of course, the memes were still fire.

April showers, brought more the the same in May, but I was getting better at weathering the storm. Until next time!

Pandemic Posts - April 2020

 Hello again!

In honor of my sister's coming down to visit me (AHHHHH!!!) I have decided to do another pandemic post. This one dedicated to the baby girl, Charlotte, since this time last year she was turning 25. But, we shall get to that! First up, I remember April being so emotionally difficult. I was supposed to be going home and getting the rest of my stuff, but instead I was back at my aunt and uncle's and had to cancel my trip. I remember distinctly one afternoon listening to Ed Sheeran's, Dive, and just crying uncontrollably, because I just felt so helpless and literally had no idea what was going on and what was to come.

I'm so thankful though, that I had family to fall back on and wasn't totally isolated. The introvert in me loves recharging by myself, but my goodness that time would have been exponentially worse. This is why I love doing this series though, because I remember this being an incredibly dark time, but looking at the pictures that I took, there were moments of such joy.

I was able to start using sweet gifts that people gave me. Shout-out to Laura for this lovely notebook set.
There were lots of fun (some people may have find them annoying, lol) challenges floating around on Instagram. I dug this old baby picture out for one of them.

I built my kitchen table! Despite it looking like it shouldn't take much, it actually took me two days to build this thing, lol

The memes continued to be straight fire:

But, the most important event that happened last April, was that Charlotte turned a shiny quarter! Hers is the first birthday I can remember celebrating on Zoom, and although it felt strange, it also was really lovely to gather people from all over and wish her a happy birthday. Definitely not the turn-up that we were expecting, but most definitely memorable in its own unique way.

April in many ways felt very cruel, but there were moments of such light and kindness as well. It was the first time in awhile that I can remember experiencing both emotions so strongly. But, I made it through April and although we are still very much in this panara bread, I'm happy to report that my sisters are coming tomorrow, so we are about to make it for all the birthdays and time apart that last year stole from us!

Well until next time!

love,

Musin Monday - Going up on a Tuesday!

 Hello all!

I hope that you all had a lovely long weekend. If only four day work weeks were are reality, but don't even get me started on that! Well, I'm back to work and I felt like I needed a little pick me up this afternoon, so decided to do a post.

One day, I will check and make sure that I'm not double mentioning songs, but today is not that day! But, a song that has been on repeat in my house and in my head is, Let's Fall In Love for the Night by FINNEAS. I just saw the video the other day too and it is so fun! So, enjoy this song and this short work week : )

love,
