Fail.

I don't understand how my blog is titled non-working girl, yet here I am. At work. On a Saturday. Where, oh where, have I gone wrong?!
love,

P.S. - As you can see though I'm doing no actual work, so I don't feel like too much of a failure.

Crossroads of America.

That's right, I went back to Indy this past weekend. And oh, how I've missed it ladies and gentlemen. Ellen and myself had a wonderful drive down there. Of course, we got a little turned away (thanks contrustion for literally getting rid of two exits! Honestly, who does that?!) Now, Indy can never hold a candle to Chicago, but Indy definitely has a special place in my heart. Those Panera's and Chick-Fil-A's have definitely saved me many of time from school food. Speaking of food you know I definitely hit up Chick-Fil-A (Ellen had never had it! So I had to correct that) and Cristina's family cooked for us and also had some great tamales at the aptly named Tamale Place. And a special shout-out to Mo'Joe Coffee Shop because that caramel Smooth Joe I had literally saved my life on Sunday. Also, the Circle Centre mall has and will always be banging. Such a good mall! And thanks to that random man who asked if I was 6 or 7 feet tall. Sorry to disappoint sir, I just have oddly long limbs. And I can't forget Brian (interestingly enough he living in Lincoln Park. I need to look him up) the love of my life. At least at that moment in the bar. Still have yet to thank my mom for my backside, but I'm getting around to it. They don't exactly make cards for that. love, ktv

NOLA

Hello!
So recently I got to check off another place on my Places to Go checklist (or I would have if I actually ever created that list), and I am here to tell you that New Orleans didn't disappoint.
It was nothing short of amazing! And as always, here is a list why:
1. I tried fried pickles and boudin balls, both most likely, crazy unhealthy for you, but so delicious!
2. Got to go to Cafe Du Monde and try their beignets and hot chocolate.
3. Went on a mule ride around the French Quarter. Interesting fact: They use mules instead of horses because they can withstand the heat better. One summer three horses dropped dead.
4. Stayed in an amazing hotel in the French Quarter.
5. Got free beads.
6. Purchased an awesome picture, sunglasses, and shot glass.
7. Walked up and down Bourbon street for literally two hours and didn't get bored.
8. Shopped at the French Market.
9. Got to listen to a ton a free street music.
Me and my sister accomplished all these things in less then 24 hours, it was a great trip and I can't wait to do it all again! And now here are some pictures to further illustrate the awesomeness of New Orleans. Anybody just want to move their with me?

Dog days of winter.

Well, I certainly did sparkle in the New Year! And I do hope that you did as well.

And now we are firmly 24 days into January and surprisingly it hasn't been horrible. I'm sorry, but January and February are the worst months to be in Chicago, due to the bitter cold that slaps you in the face like an estranged and jilted lover every morning. But despite a five and a half hour drive last Friday as I went to pick up the kid I nanny for, which usually only takes me about an hour, January has behaved itself admirably. February, take notes.
